  • Notes
    • In 1692, William Alexander was a fencible man in Campbeltown, and Alexander Elshinder was a fencible man in Crosshill.

An Alexander Alexander was baptized on 12 June 1659 to Robert Alexander and Jenat Wood in Ballemanach Leerside.

An Alexander Alexander married Martha Davidson on 6 February 1688, which would have made him twenty-nine years old at the time of his marriage. They baptized the following children:
      Robert 1689
      John 1691
      Patric 1693
      Jenat 1695
      Margaret 1698
      Jane 1701
      Ann 1703
      Isabell 1707
      John 1707

Based on the naming pattern of the children, it's likely that this was the same person.

Note that another Alexander Alexander married Janet Wilson on 24 March 1706. No children are listed for this couple, but due to the marriage date, this must have been a different person.

At an assize trial held on 14 June 1710 in Campbeltown both men confessed to burying a child of theirs in linen. One in Kilkivan and the other in Kilchrist. At this time there is not enough evidence to determine which record applies to which individual.

For database recording purposes, this individual has been arbitrarily assigned the residence of Kilkivan.
