  • Notes
    • In 1692, James Langwill was a Lowland fencible man in Bellivean, John Langwill was a Lowland fencible man in Strath, and William and Patrick Langwill were Lowland fencible men in Belloch.

James Langwill and Nance/Agnes Fleeming were married on 17 August 1699 and baptized the following children:
      Isabel 1700
      John 1705
      William 1710
      Alexander 1712
      James 1714
      Samuel 1717
      Mathew 1719
      Agnes 1721
      Peter 1724

Note that Belloch is situated between Glenramskillbeg and Tirargus in Kilcolmkill, Kiblaan, and Kilchivan parishes (now Campbeltown parish), and is very likely not the farm of the same name located in Killean parish near Muasdale (now called Glencreggan).

The baptismal record for their son, William, who was baptized on 29 January 1710 gives their residence as "Bealloch," which proves that this was the same individual who appeared in the assize records.
