  • Notes
    • In 1692, Alexander JONSTOUN was recorded as a Lowland fencible man in Rannochan.

No men of this surname appear in the Hearth Tax list.

Alexander Johnstoun married Isabel Dunlop on 2 June 1702. They baptized the following children:
      Alexander 1 October 1704
      James 19 January 1707
      John 24 April 1709
      John 5 November 1710

Alexander was found guilty of burying two of his children "within this half year" in linen cloth on 14 June 1710. If this is the same person, then one of those children was most likely his son John, who was born in 1709.
