  • Notes
    • In 1692, Alexander Love was a fencible man in Campbeltown.

On 2 November 1709 John Love, elder in Laigh Barr, received a tack for "1/4 part of the 3 1/2 mkland of Laigh Barr together with the miln of Barr." The other tenants were Alexander McMillan, William Smylie and Christian Stewart.

On 14 October 1709 John Love 'Yr., in Bar," received a half part of "3 mklands of Belloch."

John Love and Margaret Gilkison baptized the following children in Campbeltown:
      Marion - 1698
      James - 1700
      John - 1702
      Jane/Jean - 1703
      Margaret - 1705
      John - 1707
      Margaret - 1709
      William - 1710

It's possible that this was the same person but the birth of his last son in Campbeltown conflicts with this theory. Also, there appears to have been two men of this naming living in Barr during the same period, possibly father and son.
